While studying celestial navigation, we shot stars over Santa Monica Bay.

We waited for civil twilight, that brief moment in time when both the horizon and the stars are visible. When it is still too light, the stars are not visible. When it becomes too dark, the horizon is not visible.

It is a brief and special moment in time.
